The Path to Mastery: The Art of Creating a Caring Community
For more than 15 years, Eden Registry Members have been implementing our Philosophy and Principles. This experience has now been integrated into a new resource that is available to Registry Members committed to transformational change via The Eden Alternative.
The word “path” refers to how the development of the Human Habitat is a never-ending journey. The word “mastery” refers to how organizations grow with the Eden Alternative Philosophy. Progress involves small steps over time, and new skills are mastered and incorporated into the whole of the organization before the next steps are taken.
The Path to Mastery™ has four Milestones with specific outcome steps related to Personal, Organizational, and Physical transformation. If you are interested in ordering materials, please refer to the blue box on the left side of this page, choose the appropriate Milestone by clicking on its name (Milestone 1, 2, 3, or 4), and follow instructions from there.

Who is the Path to Mastery™ for? The Path to Mastery has something for everyone, including organizations that have experience with The Eden Alternative, and those that are just starting out on the culture change journey. It includes resources for consumers who want to track and assess the progress of individual Registry Members via our website. Each organization's progress along the Path to Mastery is noted in their web site entry.
Milestone 1 Resource Guide and Path to Mastery Binder Materials for each Path to Mastery Milestone include a comprehensive Resource Guide and an optional Toolkit, which is a powerful set of brief, practical skill-building modules. While optional, Milestone Toolkits are an important part of your organization's education and growth along the culture change journey.
When you purchase the Milestone 1 Resource Guide, you receive a three-ring binder with tabs and an introduction to the Path to Mastery, the Milestone 1 Resource Guide, and a list of additional resources pre-loaded in it. Additional tabs are in place, ready to be filled over time with the Milestone 1 Toolkit and the materials for subsequent Milestones.The binder also includes a CD with the electronic Assessment Tool in an Excel spreadsheet format. The Assessment Tool is designed to capture each organization's unique journey through the Milestone.
